When this Addendum applies
This Hub / Drop-off Intake Addendum (the “Addendum”) is effective as of September 17, 2026. It binds Members who use Operator-published Exchange hub or office locations for drop-off/pickup. Operator still controls which locations are open. Waitlist soft-launch alone does not open hubs.
1. Appointment-Only Hubs
1.1 If Operator publishes hub or office locations, use is appointment-only unless Operator expressly states walk-in hours for a location.
1.2 Members must follow published check-in, labeling, and pickup windows. Missed appointments may result in refusal of intake or return of goods without Operator liability for inconvenience alone.
1.3 Hubs exist to support local preferred fulfillment under Rules §8—not as a general public warehouse or shipping carrier service.
2. Intake; Declared Value; Condition
2.1 At intake, Operator may require labeling, photo condition notes, and a declared value (USD). If the Member declines to declare a value, Operator may refuse intake or treat undeclared items under Operator’s published default value band.
2.2 Members must not tender prohibited / hazmat items (see Hazmat / Prohibited Items List). Operator may refuse or quarantine items.
3. Stored-Goods Liability — Operator responsible in custody (locked)
3.1 Locked (September 17, 2026): While Member goods are in Operator’s custody at a published hub (from accepted intake until released to the rightful Member / designated recipient within the published hold window), Operator is responsible if those goods are lost, stolen, or damaged in that custody—subject to Section 3.2–3.4.
3.2 Exclusions. Operator is not responsible for loss or damage to the extent caused by: (a) Member packing failure or pre-existing damage; (b) undeclared or misdeclared prohibited/hazmat items; (c) Member delay past the published reclaim / hold window after notice; (d) deterioration of perishables accepted only at Member’s risk if Operator so marks at intake; (e) force majeure (fire, flood, earthquake, war, government action, or similar events beyond reasonable control) except to the extent caused by Operator’s failure to use reasonable care after the event begins; or (f) consequential, incidental, or business-interruption losses.
3.3 Remedy. For covered loss/damage, Operator will repair, replace, or credit (Lotus$ and/or USD as Operator publishes) up to the lesser of (i) reasonable repair/replacement cost, (ii) declared value at intake, or (iii) any per-item / per-intake maximum Operator publishes for that hub. Until a higher maximum is published, the default maximum for undeclared items is US $500 per intake line, and for declared items US $5,000 per intake line (Operator may refuse higher values or require special handling).
3.4 Insurance. Section 3 is Operator’s custody responsibility commitment. It is not a representation that a third-party warehouse policy exists. Members may still insure their own goods.
3.5 Abandoned goods. Operator will publish hold periods (default starter: 7 days after missed pickup window → notice → 7 more days to reclaim). After that, Operator may dispose, donate, or forfeit goods with no further Member claim, except for covered damage that occurred during the custody window before abandonment matured.
4. Relationship to Shipping §8
4.1 Default remains: Buyer arranges and pays USD shipping for carrier shipments; Lotus$ do not cover shipping unless an offer expressly includes an Operator-approved structure (Rules §8.3–§8.4; Ledger Terms §5.6).
4.2 Hub drop-off/pickup does not convert Operator into a freight broker, customs agent, or cash-out path for shipping. Risk of loss on carrier legs remains under Rules §8.7 (not hub custody).
4.3 Prohibited shipping representations in Rules §8.8 apply equally to hub-related marketing by Members.
